Beauty
Where it all began
The first time I stole my mom’s mascara was a defining moment for me. I was maybe nine or ten years old, and as I walked out the door to catch the bus, I heard my mom say, “Are you wearing mascara?” I was so embarrassed that I slammed the door without responding. From that moment, I started experimenting with my mom’s makeup kit and left the house each day with something new on my face. It probably looked terrible, but that’s what made it so iconic.
This childhood hobby of mine grew into something much bigger. I went through the trends of the 2016 makeup phenomenon, including Anastasia Dip Brow, orange bronzer, and powder that emphasized my texture. Now, I am proud to say that I am a skincare enthusiast (don’t worry, I still love makeup).
I’ve struggled with my skin for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I never knew how important skincare was! When I turned 18 and went to college, I met many beautiful women with the clean girl aesthetic and glass skin that I longed for. I began researching my skin type and discovered my true calling as an esthetician.
After graduating college, I immediately enrolled in beauty school. I realized that I loved doing facials on clients. I learned a lot about my own skincare needs, but being able to help someone else feel beautiful in their own skin is incredibly fulfilling, and I want to continue doing that for the rest of my life.
